Your state and its fee caps
Which state you tow in, what it sets, and where to set it.

Towing is regulated state by state, so TowConnect needs to know which state or territory you tow in. It sets the fee caps, capped storage rate and rego check that apply to you. Set it once in Settings → Accident towing. It is on every plan: it's the law.
What your state sets
- The fee caps. In New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia, the job form and the driver's price field check an accident tow against the regulated maximum. Price above it and you are told before you save, with the capped figure one tap away. It is a warning, never a block: a longer tow or salvage work can lift the cap.
- Storage. Where your state caps the daily storage rate, Settings → Storage offers it as a preset, and new stored vehicles are filed under your state.
- The rego check. The registration check on a job opens on your state's page.
Good to know
Until a state is set, no fee cap is checked, and the job form and the driver's price field say so on accident jobs.
States whose towing rules aren't built in
You can pick any of the eight states and territories. Where a state's towing rules aren't built in, no fee cap is checked: the settings card says so, and the job form stays quiet. Storage and the rego check still use your state.
The cap runs on your state's clock
After-hours caps are judged on the clock the law is written in, so a Perth tow at 3:30 pm on a weekday is in hours even if your workspace is set to Sydney time. Your workspace's own timezone still dates your registers and invoices. If the two differ, the card where you set your state tells you, with a link to Settings → Tax and region.
Metro area by default
The cap check reads this for every accident job. In New South Wales it chooses between the metro and the country rate per kilometre. In Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia the caps apply only inside the area they cover, so with it off no cap is checked.
Interim invoicing
Some plans add monthly interim invoicing on long accident jobs. If your workspace has it on and your plan no longer includes it, you can still turn it off from the same card.
